Dental - FAQ Page
How does this dental insurance work?
With this dental insurance, you have four plans to choose from. Each plan pays 100% for preventive services when you see an in-network provider. The Premier Plan pays 70% of the maximum allowable charge for basic and major services. The other three plans — Preferred, Standard and Economy — pay a set dollar amount. The difference between all four plans is the premium and what each plan pays. You’ll also benefit from these valuable features with each plan:
No deductible and no annual maximum on the amount of cash benefits you can collect
Immediate coverage for preventive and basic care and coverage for major care after 12 months
Freedom to see any dentist you like, or save an average of 36% on covered services by choosing a dentist from our network of over 500,000 provider locations*
*This reflects the difference between the national average for charges without a network and those negotiated by the network for participating providers. Networks are subject to change.
Between the Economy Plan, Standard Plan, Preferred Plan and Premier Plan, which coverage pays the highest benefits?
The Premier Plan pays the highest benefits: 70% of the maximum allowable charge for covered services.
Our other three plans — Preferred, Standard and Economy — pay a set dollar amount for covered services. Of these three plans, the Preferred option pays the most.
Does this dental insurance policy have a deductible?
There are no deductibles. This can help limit your out-of-pocket costs.
Are there waiting periods?
There are no waiting periods for your preventive and basic care services!
After 12 months, our coverage helps pay for major services, things like crowns, bridges, dentures and root canals.
What are my payment options?
You can pay by Automatic Bank Withdrawal (ABW) or monthly credit card online. If you would like to hear about other billing options, please contact us at 1-800-228-9100.
Can I be turned down for this protection?
No. Your acceptance is guaranteed. As long as you’re over age 18, and do not already have dental insurance with us, you will be accepted, no matter what the current state of your dental health is.
What’s the difference between dental insurance and a dental discount plan?
Dental insurance is real insurance. You pay a monthly premium to an insurance company and that company pays cash benefits for covered dental services.
A dental discount plan does not pay any dental expenses. Instead, you are enrolled in a program that offers reduced prices on dental services when you visit an in-network dentist.
Does Medicare pay for dental care?
No. Many people are surprised to find Medicare doesn't cover dental care.* For more details, visit Medicare.gov, or call 1-800-228-9100.

*This reflects the difference between the national average for charges without a network and those negotiated by the network for participating providers.
Can I keep this coverage for as long as I want?
Yes. You are guaranteed to keep your coverage as long as you pay premiums on time. We will only cancel your coverage due to fraud, intentional misrepresentation, your coverage eligibility ends (C254 series only), or if all other certificates/insurance policies of this form and class are canceled in the state where you live.
